きょうもうちのアゼリアはきれいに咲いています。
ツツジとサツキはよくにた花ですが、通常「つつじ（ツツジ）」と言われるものは落葉性で、「さつき(サツキ)」と言われるものには常緑樹が多いようです。アゼリア(Azaleas)はツツジとよく訳されますが、我が家のこのアゼリアは常緑樹なのできっとサツキなのでしょう。
ツツジは４月から５月頃に花をつけ、俳句の季語は「春」ですが、サツキは５月から６月にかけて咲き、季語は「夏」です。
俳句（はいく, Haiku）poems are Japanese short poems using the 5-7-5 pattern. A 季語（kigo, a season word） is traditionally used in a haiku. ツツジ(tsutsuji) is used for spring, and サツキ(satsuki) is for summer. サツキ(satsuki) is a variety of ツツジ(tsutsuji, azaleas), and サツキ flowers tend to bloom between May and June, a month later thanツツジ. I think my azalea trees in the picture are サツキ since they are evergreens while most ツツジ are deciduous. (I live in the US, btw.)
